⚡ What is the ERT PEMF Device?

ERT (Electro Regenerative Therapy) is an advanced electromagnetic therapy system designed to enhance cellular function and promote overall well-being. It delivers timed, low-frequency electromagnetic pulses through soft, positionable coils placed on or around a body area—without needles or drugs.

💡 The Core Concept: Re-Energizing Your Cells

PEMF therapy is like charging a battery—and that battery is each and every one of your 75 trillion cells. The device emits carefully calibrated electromagnetic pulses that interact with the body's cells, inducing electrical charges that help restore cells to their normal, healthy state. Many researchers refer to PEMFs as "The Fifth Element"—along with food, water, oxygen, and sleep, the body needs electromagnetic fields to thrive.

Why PEMF Matters

Our Earth has a natural pulsed electromagnetic field that is essential for life. Unfortunately, research suggests this field is almost 100 times weaker than during prehistoric times. PEMF therapy helps supplement what we may be missing.

✅ FDA Acceptance History

Medical PEMF therapy has been accepted in many countries around the world:

  • 1979: US FDA accepted PEMF for healing non-union bone fractures
  • 1998: FDA accepted PEMF for urinary incontinence and muscle stimulation
  • 2006: FDA accepted PEMF for depression and anxiety
  • Israel: Accepted for migraine headaches
  • Canada & EU: Many acceptances for trauma, degeneration, and pain

🔬 How PEMF Technology Works

Understanding the science behind ERT helps you explain this technology confidently to clients and appreciate why it can be so beneficial.

The Electromagnetic Foundation

Our Bodies Are Fundamentally Electric

All matter is made up of moving particles, and forces exist in the space around these particles—these forces are magnetic fields. Electric and magnetic fields always exist together; one cannot exist without the other. The electricity flowing through our bodies creates electromagnetic fields, and external magnetic fields interact with our body's native fields, creating effects at the cellular level.

Key Mechanisms

🔋 Cell Membrane Potential Normalization

PEMF normalizes cell membrane potentials—the electrical charge across cell membranes that regulates what enters and exits cells. Electromagnetic fields affect this charge, rebalancing it so membrane channels can open up. Think of these channels like doors and windows of a house: by opening them, oxygen and nutrients enter more easily, and carbon dioxide and waste are more easily eliminated.

🔄 Forced Cellular Respiration

The ERT device induces rhythmic contraction and relaxation of cells—similar to a cellular massage. This action helps cells absorb nutrients more efficiently and expel waste products, promoting overall cellular health and vitality.

🚪 Electroporation

The electromagnetic pulses temporarily increase cell membrane permeability, allowing better nutrient uptake and faster release of cellular waste, supporting the body's natural detoxification processes.

⚡ Cellular Voltage Enhancement

PEMF can help raise cellular voltage, which correlates with a rise in cellular pH toward a more alkaline state (around 7.3 pH). This increased motion of ions and electrolytes helps cells increase their available energy by as much as 500%.

The Downstream Effects

When cells function better, everything improves. PEMF stimulates atoms, increases electronic spin, aligns molecules, and generates microcurrents along nerve pathways. This leads to:

  • Increased intercellular communication
  • Enhanced metabolic processes
  • Increased circulation and oxygenation
  • Increased ATP production (cellular energy)
  • Optimized cell membrane potential
  • Reduced oxidative stress and inflammation
  • Boosted feel-good endorphins
  • Restored endocrine gland functions
🧬
The Foundation of PEMF Therapy
If you restore and rebalance enough cells, they all work more efficiently. Cells come together to make tissues, tissues make organs. By restoring cellular function, you restore organ function, allowing the entire body to function better. This is the basis for magnetic field therapy—affecting and improving basic cellular function to support health and, when possible, prevent cellular damage from happening in the first place.

🖥️ Operating the ERT Device

This section covers the practical steps for running safe and effective PEMF sessions.

Device Settings

⏱️ Time Settings

Choose from preset session durations:

5 min
Quick session
10 min
Short session
15 min
Standard
30 min
Extended

Tip: Start conservative with shorter times, then adjust based on client comfort and response.

💪 Intensity Levels

Double

Session Workflow

  • 1Screen: Confirm no implanted electronic devices (pacemaker, cochlear implant, insulin pump); check pregnancy status; note seizure history; discuss goals
  • 2Prep: Have client remove electronics, cards, hearing aids, key fobs, metal belt buckles; ensure comfortable position
  • 3Position: Place coil pad around target region (shoulder, wrist, back, knee, etc.); pad can be folded to increase efficiency
  • 4Set: Choose time (start with 5-10 min for new clients) and intensity (start with Standard)
  • 5Run: Activate device; monitor client comfort; most feel nothing or mild massage-like sensation
  • 6Complete: Have client stand slowly; note any immediate response; encourage normal hydration

Room Setup & Daily Checks

📋 Standard Preparation:

  • Stable surface for control unit
  • Keep phones/cards/key fobs away from coil field area
  • Post visible contraindication sign: "No pacemakers/implanted electronic devices"
  • Inspect power cord/cables and coil pad for wear daily
  • Confirm timer and intensity controls function properly
  • Use cleanable barrier between coil pad and skin if applicable
  • Wipe device surfaces between clients (avoid saturating electronics)

Documentation Template

📝 Chart for Each Session:

  • Indication/goal (e.g., shoulder discomfort, post-exercise recovery)
  • Coil placement region
  • Time setting (5/10/15/30)
  • Intensity level (Standard/Double/Quadruple)
  • Client response during session
  • Client response after session (comfort level 0-10, ROM, relaxation)
  • Any notable effects or feedback

🛡️ Safety & Contraindications

Proper screening is essential. PEMF is considered low-risk for most people, but certain conditions require exclusion.

Absolute Contraindications

🚫 NEVER Use With:

  • Pacemaker or ICD — Magnetic fields can interfere with implanted cardiac devices
  • Cochlear implant — Contains electronic components sensitive to EMF
  • Insulin pump — Electronic device that could be affected

Why? Major authorities advise keeping magnets and electronics with magnets at least 6 inches (15 cm) from implanted devices. PEMF creates magnetic fields that could interfere with device function.

⚠️ Pregnancy

Usually avoided due to limited safety data. Require explicit clearance from the client's obstetric team before proceeding.

Precautions — Clinician Review First

⚠️ Review Before Proceeding:

  • History of seizures
  • Unstable arrhythmias
  • Active bleeding disorders
  • Severe hypotension
  • Unclear implanted metal or electronics
  • Any implant where client is unsure what it is — pause and verify (device card, operative note)

Remove During Session

📱 Items to Remove/Keep Away from Field:

  • Phones, tablets, laptops
  • Hearing aids
  • Credit/debit cards
  • Key fobs
  • Metal belt buckles
  • Watches (especially smart watches)

What Clients May Experience After

Most clients feel great, but some may experience:

😌

No Change

Perfectly normal—effects may be subtle or cumulative

😊

Mild Relaxation

Many feel pleasantly relaxed after sessions

💤

Transient Fatigue

Temporary tiredness is common with neuromodulatory modalities

🔄

Temporary Fluctuation

Brief symptom changes; if significant/persistent, stop and reassess

💬 Client Care & Communication

Your warm, knowledgeable communication helps clients understand and appreciate this innovative technology.
