IonCleanse® Footbath Training
Your guide to delivering a relaxing detox experience
🌊 Welcome to IonCleanse Training
The IonCleanse footbath is one of our most relaxing wellness services. Patients love the warm foot soak experience and often feel lighter, calmer, and more energized afterward.
💡 Why Detox Matters
We're exposed to more environmental toxins than ever – from plastics and pesticides to heavy metals in our air, water, and food. These can accumulate in our tissues over time. The IonCleanse supports the body's natural ability to cleanse and release, helping patients feel their best.
What is IonCleanse?
IonCleanse is a warm ionic footbath that uses gentle electrical current to create charged particles (ions) in the water. These ions promote relaxation and support the body's natural detoxification pathways.

Your Patient Explanation
"The IonCleanse is a relaxing foot soak that creates ions in the water – like the refreshing feeling near the ocean or a waterfall. The ions help support your body's natural detox processes while you sit back and relax. Most people feel calmer, lighter, and more energized afterward!"
⚡ How IonCleanse Works
🌊 The Ocean Analogy
You know that refreshed feeling near the beach or a waterfall? That's partly from negative ions in the air and water. The IonCleanse creates a similar environment – concentrated right where the feet are soaking. It's nature's cleansing power, amplified!
The Process
A gentle direct current passes through the metal array, creating positive and negative ions through electrolysis of the water.
These charged particles help neutralize oppositely-charged toxins and support the body's natural elimination through the skin.
The ionic environment promotes deep relaxation – many patients feel calm and peaceful during and after.
About the Water Colors
Patients always ask about this! The water changes color due to:
- Ions being created (electrolysis reactions)
- Minerals already in the local water
- The salt added for conductivity
- The metal array itself
- What's being released from the body
The manufacturer provides this guide based on their observations. Don't diagnose from colors – use it as general education only:
Water changes color even without feet in it! Local water quality affects 20-40% of the color. Focus on how patients feel, not specific colors. Never say "that brown means your liver is toxic."
🛡️ Safety & Screening
Do NOT Use If Patient Has:
- Pacemaker or electrical implant
- Pregnant or nursing
- Heartbeat-regulating meds or blood thinners
- Organ transplant recipient
- Seizure/psychiatric meds where missing a dose could cause episodes
Special Considerations
IonCleanse can lower blood sugar. Make sure patients have eaten before their session – especially diabetics or those prone to low blood sugar.
For meds requiring stable blood levels (like BP meds), schedule sessions just before their next dose.
Titanium pins, joint replacements are generally OK. Stop if any discomfort occurs.
Patients on dialysis, taking insulin, or with congestive heart failure can generally use IonCleanse. It won't interfere with medications or deplete insulin levels. When in doubt, call AMD.
Quick Screening Script
"Quick health check:

• Blood thinners or heart medications?
